BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- On October 7, Devils hockey officially begins in Binghamton. But before New Jersey's newest AHL affiliate can begin its stay in the Southern Tier, a logo and jersey must be unveiled.

The official reveal is set for Saturday, but on Friday, over at downtown Binghamton's Holiday Inn, New Jersey Devils brass met with the media in anticipation of tomorrow's event.

In attendance:

  • Hugh Weber - President, New Jersey Devils & Prudential Center
  • Sergei Brylin - Assistant Coach, Binghamton Devils (Three-time Stanley Cup Champion w/ New Jersey Devils)
  • Ken Daneyko - MSG Network TV Analyst (Three-time Stanley Cup Champion w/ New Jersey Devils)
  • Tom Mitchell - Executive Vice President of Operations, Binghamton Devils
  • Fred Akshar - New York State Senator
  • Jason Garnar - Broome County Executive
  • Rich David - Mayor of Binghamton

All equally excited for the future of hockey for the next five years at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

"We see this team as an asset of any community, but specifically finding a home here in the Southern Tier is something that I can tell you we don't take lightly," said Weber. "We want to see this team be something, as you say, becomes a tradition for generations and generations. So I share your sentiment Senator [Akshar], that we want to see this long term."

Again, the B-Devils plan to unveil its new logo and jersey Saturday, July 29 in front of fans from 11 a.m until 3 p.m.
