Reyes, Thompson lead Binghamton to 7-2 win over New Hampshire

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) -- David Thompson homered and had two hits, driving in three, and Scarlyn Reyes allowed just three hits over six innings as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies topped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7-2 on Saturday.

Reyes (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out three and walked one while allowing one run.

Binghamton started the scoring in the second inning when Thompson hit a solo home run.

New Hampshire answered in the next half-inning when Richard Urena hit an RBI single, bringing home Derrick Loveless to tie it up.

The Rumble Ponies took the lead for good in the third when Dale Burdick scored on a ground out.

Jon Harris (5-10) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs and seven hits in the Eastern League game. He also struck out three and walked three.

With the win, Binghamton improved to 12-5 against New Hampshire this season.
