Binghamton's Bruce ready to expand game in junior season

Posted: Updated:

VESTAL (WBNG) - The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team held its final practice on Monday before heading to Canada. The Bearcats will play four exhibition games in five days during the trip.

Forward Thomas Bruce started 23 games as a sophomore this past season. He averaged seven points and five rebounds per game, while also displaying his athleticism on some fine dunks. Bruce scored more points and grabbed more rebounds than he did as a freshman, but this year, as an upperclassman, Bruce is looking to take the next step in his development.

"I've been working a lot with my conditioning and with my mid-range game," said Binghamton junior forward Thomas Bruce. "I've been working a lot with my jump shot, trying to get that back to where it use to be. Just trying to better myself so I can help my team win."

The Bearcats heads north to Canada on Tuesday. First exhibition game is Wednesday against Brock University in St. Catharines.
