Nido, Biondi lead the way for Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Tomas Nido homered and singled, driving in two runs as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Erie SeaWolves 6-1 on Thursday. The Rumble Ponies swept the three-game series with the win.

Patrick Biondi singled three times with two runs for Binghamton.

Binghamton took the lead in the first when Matt Oberste hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run home run by Nido.

The Rumble Ponies later added single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings to secure the victory.

Binghamton right-hander Casey Delgado (9-5) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over seven innings. Opposing starter Matt Crouse (6-5) took the loss in the Eastern League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and 12 hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Zack Cox doubled and singled for the SeaWolves.
