ENDICOTT (WBNG) - Golfers continued to hit the course at En-Joie Golf Club on Tuesday for practice rounds as the field tries to gain a level of comfort ahead of the start of the 2017 DICK'S Sporting Goods Open on Friday. One of the 78 competitors in this year's field is 57-year-old Corey Pavin. The California native turned pro in 1982 and heads into the tournament with two top ten finishes this season. Pavin currently sits 27th in the Charles Schwab Cup Standings and says he is happy with how he has played at En-Joie in the past.
"I've played well here the last few times I've played," said PGA Tour Champions golfer Corey Pavin. "I like the way the course sets up. It's a little tighter and requires you to hit your driver a little straighter and hit good iron shots. It's a really nice golf course that really tests all aspects of your game, and I like that. I just enjoy the place. The people are great here. They really support the tournament. They want us here. They look forward to this being here. And, in turn, we look forward to being here because of that, as well."
Pavin added that his game plan for the weekend is to just go out there and have fun.
