Tame your hunger with the animals at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park during the 26th Annual Feast with the Beasts event. This event will showcase more than 25 New York and Pennsylvania restaurants and wineries with a wide variety of specialty cuisines, desserts and wines.
Rachel Davenport joined Kara Conrad in studio to talk about the upcoming event and brought along one of the zoo's education animals, Lorito. The 33-year-old double yellow headed amazon parrot has been at the zoo for 25 years. The species can be found in Mexico, Central America and South America and they live in the tropical forest. They eat fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts.
Feast with the Beasts will be Wednesday, August 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the last ticket being sold at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available online, at the zoo's ticket booth and the night of the event.
People can bid early on silent auction items by going online. Items include signed memorabilia from national touring musical acts, comedians, sports teams, and many local businesses. The auction will conclude at the end of the event.
Member tickets are $20 and non-member tickets are $25. That includes admission into the zoo, food/wine tasting, participation in silent auction and a basket raffle, plus access to live music and vendors.
All proceeds from Feast with the Beasts go directly towards supporting the Binghamton Zoo.
