BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Portland starter Kevin McAvoy threw seven-plus innings of one-run baseball for the Sea Dogs on Thursday night in Portland, Maine to hand Binghamton its second straight loss, 2-1. With the loss and a Reading victory on Thursday night, the Ponies magic number to clinch a postseason berth remains at two.

Marcos Molina pitched seven innings allowing two runs on three hits and three walks, while striking out five for Binghamton, but took the hard-luck loss.

At the plate, three Rumble Ponies collected two hits, led by David Thompson who recorded two doubles. Peter Alonso went 0-for-4 in his debut with Binghamton.
