PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- Chad De La Guerra hit a run-scoring double in the first inning, leading the Portland Sea Dogs to a 2-1 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday.

Ty Buttrey got L.J. Mazzilli to fly out with runners on first and second to end the game for his fourth save of the season.

The double by De La Guerra, part of a two-run inning, gave the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead before Jeremy Barfield hit an RBI single later in the inning.

The Rumble Ponies cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Patrick Biondi scored on a ground out.

Portland right-hander Teddy Stankiewicz (5-5) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Mickey Jannis (7-7) took the tough loss in the Eastern League game after allowing two runs and three hits over six innings.

Biondi tripled and singled, also stealing a base for the Rumble Ponies.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- David Thompson hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, driving in Luis Guillorme with the go-ahead run, as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies beat the Portland Sea Dogs 2-1 in the second game of a doubleheader on Friday.

Guillorme scored after he reached base on a walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and then went to third on a wild pitch.

Tyler Bashlor struck Danny Bethea out with a runner on third to end the game for his second save of the season.

In the top of the sixth, Binghamton broke a scoreless tie on a single by Kevin Taylor that scored Patrick Biondi. Portland answered in the bottom of the inning when Josh Tobias hit an RBI single, scoring Danny Mars.

Adonis Uceta (1-0) got the win in relief while Jacob Dahlstrand (5-4) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
