BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The Syracuse Orange are just three days away from the start of the 2017 football season. The Orange host Central Connecticut Friday night inside the Carrier Dome.
Dino Babers led the Orange to a 4-8 record in his first season on the sidelines. With five preseason ranked opponents on Syracuse's schedule, Babers says the key for the Orange this season is their mindset.
"The biggest thing is this, we have to believe that we can win every game that we play, or there's no reason for playing it," said Syracuse head coach Dino Babers in an interview with CNY Central. "You don't get into a fight with the bully at the school saying, 'Hey, I'm going to lose, but I have to fight him because he's the bully at the school.' You might say, 'My chances aren't good,' but you'd like to think that you've got a chance. It's like "Dumb and Dumber," 'So you're telling me I've got a chance.'"
Kickoff Friday night between Syracuse and Central Connecticut is set for 7 p.m.
