Ponies' season ends in game four of EDCS

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The Trenton Thunder ended the Binghamton Rumble Ponies season in game four of the Eastern Division Championship Series on Saturday night in Trenton, New Jersey with a 9-1 victory. The Thunder advance to the Eastern League Championship Series, winning the series against the Ponies, 3-1. 

Trenton scored in four of the first five innings on Saturday, including two in the first and three in both the third and fifth innings. Rumble Ponies starter Mickey Jannis was touched up for five runs, four earned, in just two-and-one-third innings pitched.

Binghamton's lone run came in the sixth inning on a Peter Alonso double, scoring Kevin Kaczmarski. Alonso collected three hits in the loss. 

In manager Luis Rojas' first season in Binghamton, the Rumble Ponies finished the regular season with the second best record in all of the Eastern League (85-54).
