Johnson City Mayor Greg Deemie seems to win 2017 primary election

Posted: Updated:

(WBNG) -- According to broomevotes.com, Republican Greg Deemie has unofficially beat Republican Richard Balles and Republican Martin Meaney in Tuesday's primaries. This as absentee ballots have yet to be counted

Deemie has been the mayor of the village since 2012. He says that he wants to continue his current efforts, saying now is not the time for change.

"I'm glad for the support of the people of the village that they have faith and trust in me," Deemie said. "It's still going to come down to absentee ballots at this point so we still have a little bit of a wait, but I'm happy to be in the lead at the moment and hopefully it'll stay that way."

In the Town of Fenton, Republican Ambrose Madden has beaten out Richard Husar for Fenton Town Justice.
