The Broome County Arts Council's mission is to promote and support a thriving arts community through events. Like the Bourbon, Beef and Brews event that's happening September 28. Interim Executive Director, Arthur Garrison, joined Kara Conrad to talk about how these events help the arts in the community.
This is the 30th year of the BCAC and it has given it's 10 millionth dollar to the arts in the area. The Broome County Arts Council helps the performing arts such as the opera and the Binghamton Philharmonic, displays that are shown in the museums, visual arts, artists who paint, sculpt, writers, poets and more.
During the event you can taste craft spirits that are distinctly unique, small batch and locally produced in the New York State Greater Southern Tier area. Also sample mouthwatering beef with a variety of bourbon sauces, domestic cheeses and a bourbon ball dessert. People attending can also get involved by voting best bourbon. There will also be music by Barb Fox’s DJ ENTERTAINMENT and Curt Osgood.
Participating distilleries include Cooperstown Distillery, Dragonfyre Distillery, Finger Lakes Distilling, Four Fights Distilling, French Distillers and Alchemists, Myers Farm Distillery, Old Home Distillers and Southern Tier Distillery. Also try a taste of traditional Kentucky Bourbon spirits in our Kentucky Bourbon Tasting Room. Southern Tier Brewing and Black Bear Winery will also be participating.
The Bourbon, Beef and Brews event will happen on Thursday, September 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Binghamton Club on 83 Front St., Binghamton. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased online.
