VESTAL (WBNG) - The Vestal Golden Bears welcomed Ithaca to Dick Hoover Stadium for a rare Section IV Thursday night football game. Vestal scored 21 points in the first quarter en route to a dominant victory, 42-6.
"We definitely stick together as a family," said Vestal senior quarterback Matt Carr. "We have practice shirts on the back of them they say 'us' because we're a team, and we're a family, and we stick together through thick and thin. I think it showed tonight. We came out firing on all cylinders, and it showed on the scoreboard."
"Tonight was really just a byproduct of the way we've been practicing the last couple weeks," said Vestal head coach Marty Fisher.
Fisher continued, "the kids just came out and just grinded it out. I'm not really surprised on how they played tonight."

"I owe everything to my offensive lineman," said Vestal junior running back Matt Thrasher. "I'm not going to score, I'm not going to be getting interviewed right now, if those guys didn't put everything on the line every single play and block. They're everything to me. I wouldn't ask for a better offensive line."
