BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Tim Erixon tallied a trio of assists, leading the Binghamton Devils to a 3-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in their preseason finale at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena Sunday night.
"We still have a lot to work through this week with making decisions on players that we're going to let go, and then obviously New Jersey still has quite a few bodies up there," said Binghamton Devils head coach Rick Kowalsky. "So we're going to see guys trickle down here over the course of the week. But we're going to get right into it Tuesday. Get back to work and continue to work in this building. Get comfortable here, and certainly be excited for that home opener."
The B-Devils received goals from Nathan Bastian, Blake Pietila and Chris Calnan.
Jean-Sebastian Dea scored the lone goal for the Penguins.
"It'd be cool if we could have a home-ice advantage here and use all the fans and the small rink to our advantage, so building off the first win and that was the idea today," Nathan Bastian said after the win.
We'll get a first look at the B-Devils home-ice advantage when the team hosts Bridgeport in their home opener this upcoming Saturday, October 7.
