TOWN OF CHENANGO (WBNG) -- Chenango Forks girls soccer, Class B's top-ranked team in the state, is well-prepared and confident going into Tuesday's Section IV semifinal matchup against rival Chenango Valley at Blue Devil Stadium.
The 14-1 Blue Devils have won both meetings against the Warriors this season, and following Thursday's quarterfinal win over Whitney Point, expect much of the same from Christopher Walsh's team.
"I have to be one game at a time because there's teams that lie ahead of us, including tomorrow's match, that are very strong and have nothing to lose but to take it away from us," Chenango Forks head coach Christopher Walsh said at practice Monday.
"As a team, we're trying to take it game by game, and each practice work harder than the last, and focus on the team and what that team has to offer and focus on what we can do to beat that team and move on to the next," senior midfielder Brooke Maietta added before practice started Monday.
Again, the Blue Devils play host to Chenango Valley on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The winner will advance to the Section IV Championship match against either Owego or Waverly this upcoming Saturday, October 28.
