JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) -- The Village Diner is a staple for many locals and now it has state-wide recognition.
MSN.com named The Village Diner the best diner in New York on it's list "The Best Diner in Every State"
Owner Matt Smith said, "wow, just the fact that our little diner would be selected for that is amazing".
It may just be a small diner, but it's packed with big flavor.
Shari Fairchild of Binghamton is a regular. She stops by about four times per week. "It makes your day really nice when you have breakfast here and you leave and you're full-you're full of love and happiness," said Fairchild.
Smith has owned the diner for over four years. He attributes the diner's success to his staff.
The diner is known for its creative specials like pumpkin waffles, mac 'n' cheese, grilled cheese, and banana's foster french toast.
Smith doesn't know how the diner was chosen as best in New York, but thinks it may be related to it's Yelp ratings.
The Village Diner is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
