Do you know what's in your water? Tonight on 12 News we'll give you an in-depth look at our local drinking water supply. Experts say there can be thousands of contaminants in our water. 12 News Reporter Chloe Vincente talked to those experts to find out what's really in our drinking water. She joined Kara Conrad on Around the Tiers to talk more about her special.
Vincente says she went to the Binghamton Water Filtration Plant and learned from start to finish how the whole process works. If you're a Binghamton resident your water comes from the Susquehanna river. It is then brought into the treatment plant and many different things are done to it to make sure that it is safe to drink. She also spoke with the supervisor of the plant and experts at the Broome County Health Department.
The water at WBNG was also tested, you can see the results when "Your Drinking Water" airs Tuesday, November 7 during 12 News at 11.
