Veteran led BU women look to shine in 2017-18

VESTAL (WBNG) - The Binghamton women's basketball team opens its season Friday night on the road at Army. BU returns first-team all-conference selection Imani Watkins, who already has more than 1,000 career points, two-time America East defensive player of the year Alyssa James and America East all-rookie selection Kai Moon.

With all the talent in dark green and white, the Bearcats feel like this is the season to shine.

"I'm personally really excited," said Binghamton women's basketball head coach Linda Cimino. "We have a veteran team coming back. We've been building this program for the last four years. Now, we want to reap our benefits and see how well we are and how well we can play on the court."

"I think there's definitely a lot more excitement," said Binghamton sophomore Kai Moon. "Especially now that we've come together more as a team. We're reading each other, and I think we are getting to know each other better. We're not just being robots out there, we're playing basketball."

Game starts at 7 p.m. in West Point, New York.
