Chenango Forks, Tioga begin preparations for state semifinals

Posted: Updated:

ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Over the weekend, five Section IV football teams battled it out, all vying for a chance to play in the state semifinals. Now, just two local squads remain: Chenango Forks and Tioga.

CLASS B STATE SEMIFINAL

#8 Cheektowaga (10-1) vs. #2 Chenango Forks (11-0)

Saturday, November 18 at 3 p.m. at Ty Cobb Stadium

"I think it's just focusing on the same things that got us here, and certainly, like I said, we can't have a start like we did last week, but our kids know that, and I'm confident that we're going to start much better than that," Chenango Forks head coach Dave Hogan said Monday morning at Union-Endicott High School.

CLASS D STATE SEMIFINAL

#6 Tioga (9-1) vs. #5 Maple Grove (10-1)

Friday, November 17 at 4 p.m. at Ty Cobb Stadium

"These kids are playing with a lot of confidence right now and peaking at the right time, so you don't want to mess with that," said Tioga head coach Nick Aiello Monday morning at Union-Endicott High School. "You just look to keep the process the same and the preparation. The kids were already watching film this morning, and they understand what's on the line, and they're excited about it."
