TOWN OF CHENANGO (WBNG) -- Big news out of Chenango Forks on Monday as senior soccer and lacrosse standout, Brooke Maietta, signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI), formally committing to the Binghamton University women's lacrosse program starting next year.

Maietta has accomplished quite a bit during her career as a Blue Devil.

In 2016, she helped the Chenango Forks varsity soccer team claim a state championship. While in lacrosse, the five-year varsity player has tallied 240 career goals and 114 career assists (354 total points), leading the Blue Devils to three consecutive Section IV Class C titles.

Maietta is the first D-I women's lacrosse signing out of Chenango Forks.

Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and teammates, Maietta is thrilled to continue her playing career at Binghamton, while also studying to become a nurse.

"This day is so special, and it's so great that I have all my lacrosse friends and soccer friends here," said the well-spoken Maietta. "The Chenango Forks community has always been so great to me, and I have so many great memories here, and I can't wait to start many more new memories at Binghamton University."
