Binghamton High School to host Thanksgiving community dinner for 22nd year

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- The Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Binghamton High School will return for the 22nd year.

Hundreds of volunteers, students and staff will come together to participate in this year's dinner. It will take place on Thursday, November 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Binghamton High School. 

Organizers will be continuing the bus shuttle service this year. First Student will allow those with transportation concerns to attend the annual holiday dinner. 

This event is possible because of donations, volunteers, students and staff. Individuals, businesses or local organizations will be able to sponsor a table for $250. To sponsor a table, call Stephen Giannini at 762-8262 for details.

Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation to the dinner may do so by sending a check, payable to BHS THANKSGIVING DINNER to: 31 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905. Attn: Stephen Giannini - BHS Honor Society.

Shuttle service:

Buses will start at 11 a.m. followed by a continuous shuttle to and from Binghamton High School until 1:30 p.m. when buses will leave the high school for returns only.

  • Shuttle 1 will pick up at 11 a.m. at Franklin Elementary School on Conklin Avenue and stop at 11:15 a.m. at North Shore Towers on Isbell Street. 
  • Shuttle 2 will pick up at 11 a.m. at the Greater Binghamton Transportation Center on Chenango Street and stop at 11:15 a.m. at the First Ward Senior Citizen Center on Clinton Street. 

Home delivery and take-home meals will not be available, according to organizers.
