The First Church of the Nazarene wants to bring you back in time to Bethlehem. A Night in Bethlehem is an opportunity for people to feel as if they've gone back in time to Bethlehem, on the night of the first Christmas. As people arrive and "register" for the census that also brought Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, they immediately find themselves in a marketplace in the town of Bethlehem, ready to experience the sights, sounds, tastes, and scents of the ancient town.
Guests will also be invited to go on a live nativity tour, where actors will personally take them to the various people and places where the events of the first Christmas took place, culminating at the stable with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus amidst live animals.
A Night in Bethlehem is free to the public, although donations of non-perishable goods for Catherine's Cupboard will be accepted. The event is on Saturday, December 2nd from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. people can come and go between that time. It will be at The First Church of the Nazarene on 1282 Chenango Street in Binghamton. Register at the door, or pre-register online.
