BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- It's a Thanksgiving tradition at Binghamton High School: Their 22nd annual Thanksgiving dinner.
High school students volunteered on their day off on Thanksgiving to feed and serve the community.
An organizer for the event says they welcome 1,500 to 2,000 people every year to their cafeteria for a special feast.
The dinner was not only serving full stomachs to the community, but also serving smiles to the student workers.
"It's really special to be a part of it. It's something I love doing every single year. It's become a tradition for me and I can't imagine spending my Thanksgiving any other way," said Rory Pelella, the event organizer.
Food was not all that was served at the event. Students also gave away free books and toys for children who attended the dinner.
