VESTAL (WBNG) -- Binghamton men and women's basketball played a doubleheader at the Events Center on Saturday as part of Hall of Fame weekend.
During halftime of the men's game, Binghamton athletics inducted Mollie Lehman (Class of 2000, softball), Josh Patterson (Class of 2010, wrestling), Brendon Hitchcock (Class of 2007, baseball) and the 1983 women's cross country team into the Bearcats Hall of Fame.
Colgate (3-4) 65 - Binghamton (5-4) 76
"We were down 13, didn't hang our heads, kept fighting, and once we took the lead we never gave it back," Willie Rodriguez said after the win.
"We didn't give up," added Thomas Bruce. "We raised our intensity, and we rose to the challenge, so that was definitely a big win for us."
"What I'm more focused on is what does winning look like?" questioned Binghamton head coach Tommy Dempsey. "And that is what winning looks like in those key categories."
The Bearcats ride their four-game winning streak (best since 2009-10 season) into Wednesday night when they host Army at 7 p.m.
Yale (4-3) 73 - Binghamton (4-4) 69 F/OT
"We missed ten free throws," said Binghamton head coach Linda Cimino. "You can't win a basketball game, especially when it's a one possession game going into overtime, by missing ten free throws. Obviously, that's the most frustrating thing that I'm taking from the stat line today, minus the fact that we lost the game."
"We have to play a full game," added Imani Watkins. "We have spurts where we look phenomenal, and we have spurts when we look like we've never played together before. I just think, overall, everybody has to step up, and everybody has to put 40 minutes together."
The Bearcats hit the road and battle Bryant on Thursday at 7 p.m.
