ENDWELL (WBNG) – Progressive Dental offices are doing more than just fixing smiles this holiday season.
“I've worked for Progressive Dental for over 18 years and as long as I've been here we've always tried to give back to the community" Maureen Srnka, the administrative office coordinator for the Endwell Progressive Dental office, said.
The company is once again donating dental products to children. In addition, it is helping to fulfill even more local needs.
"Food pantries and food drives are great but what we chose to do is, we reached out to our local school districts where our offices are located and we are pairing up with them," Srnka said.
Progressive is pairing up with local schools to start a new charity called "Smiles for Santa," an initiative to give hygiene items to kids who need them the most.
"We are asking for support from the community for basic hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, gloves, hats, scarves," Srnka said.
Progressive Dental recently put donation boxes in the lobby of all five of its Southern Tier locations. They hope collecting these donations can bring smiles in even the coldest months ahead.
"It's actually to bring smiles to the children and to their families and actually you know give them something that they may not have the means to get on their own," Srnka said.
"This is something we are doing for the first time and hopefully with a lot of support its actually gonna take off and we continue to do so," Srnka added.
The “Smiles for Santa” program is still looking for donations of the following items:
If you would like to donate, you can drop off these items at any of the Progressive Dental offices in the Endwell, Binghamton, Montrose, Norwich and Kirkwood locations.
Progressive Dental will be collecting donations through the month of December.
