VESTAL (WBNG) -- The Binghamton men's basketball team is currently riding a five-game winning streak. The program's longest such streak in nine years.
After starting the season just 1-4, the Bearcats are now 6-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 at home.
Junior guard Timmy Rose couldn't be happier with the progress his team has made.
"It's amazing," said Rose following Wednesday's win over Army. "Definitely. Coming off of last year, we wanted to turn it around this year, and we had a really good offseason, and now to actually start winning like this, it's a great feeling."
Five straight victories is great and all, but how do the Bearcats plan on maintaining momentum Saturday at Loyola?
Junior guard J.C. Show explains:
"We don't need to change anything," said Show after Wednesday's victory. "We just need to keep it simple, focus on having a good day of practice tomorrow, have a good day of practice on Friday, and if we just take care of the little things one step at a time, we don't need to make [our winning streak] a bigger deal than it is. We just need to go get one more game."
No Division-I BU team has ever rolled off five consecutive non-conference victories, but Tommy Dempsey's squad has a chance to do just that Saturday at Loyola. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
