Chairman Reynolds questions 50-bed drug treatment proposal

Posted: Updated:

(WBNG) -- The Chairman of the Broome County Legislature is calling on the state to provide some clarification regarding the proposed drug treatment facility in the town of Dickinson.

In a letter to The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Tuesday, Reynolds, a Republican, called into question why OASAS chose to have 50 beds at the facility.

"As the RFP that was issued by Broome County was authored by OASAS, we’re curious how the size of the facility was determined. We’d appreciate it if you’d provide us with the methodology behind the determination that 50 beds was the appropriate capacity for our County and region," Reynolds wrote in the letter.
