BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- The new year brings new hours for the Broome County Dog Shelter.
According to officials at the shelter, it will be open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting the week of January 1.
The first Saturday the shelter wil be open is Jan. 6.
Previously, the shelter was open Monday through Friday.
"While the shelter will be closed to the public on Sunday and Mondays, staff will always be on site to care for the dogs within our shelter as well as to respond to emergencies and other public needs as they may arise," according to a news release.
The Broome County Dog Shelter is located at 110 Cutler Pond Road in Binghamton. It houses adoptable dogs and puppies.
