BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The New York Giants introduced its new general manager Dave Gettleman on Friday afternoon. Gettleman was the Carolina Panthers general manager from 2013 to July 2017 when he was relieved of his duties. During that run, the Panthers reached the Super Bowl.
Gettleman also previously worked for the Giants from 1998 to 2012 in various personnel roles.
Now as the Giants GM, Gettleman is faced with some major decisions this offseason, such as will he pay Odell Beckham Jr. all the money Beckham is looking for and what will he do at quarterback. Friday, Gettleman addressed Eli Manning.
"Eli's won a lot of games and he is a great competitor," said New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman. "He is very intelligent. He and I are going to talk, and if what I saw in Philadelphia wasn't a mirage, and I don't believe it was, then we'll just keeping moving."
