VESTAL (WBNG) - The Binghamton women's basketball team took care of business Sunday against Dartmouth to close its non-conference schedule on a five-game winning streak. It's the longest unbeaten run for the BU women since 2004.
Binghamton now enters conference play on a high note with a 9-4 record, which is the program's best start since the 2005-2006 season. Dartmouth, an Ivy League school, is no slouch either. The Big Green entered Sunday's game with eight wins, giving Binghamton plenty of confidence heading into America East play.
"This team beat two BCS teams in Boston College and Colorado," said Binghamton women's head coach Linda Cimino. "They also beat New Hampshire, and New Hampshire was preseason number one in our conference. We knew coming in that we can compete with anybody, if we play our game."
Bearcats open conference play Saturday, January 6 at Maine. Game starts at 1 p.m.
