How to apply for heating assistance through HEAP

(WBNG) -- Did you know you might be eligible for assistance with paying your heating bill this winter?

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps low-income New York State residents pay the cost of heating their homes.

HEAP may be able to help you if you heat your home with:

  • Electricity
  • Natural Gas
  • Oil
  • Coal
  • Propane
  • Wood/Wood Pellets
  • Kerosene
  • Corn

According to the state, your total household gross monthly income for your household size must be at or below the following guidelines:

  • $2,318 (1 person)
  • $3,031 (2 people)
  • $3,744 (3 people)
  • $4,457 (4 people)
  • $5,170 (5 people)
  • $5,883 (6 people)
  • $6,017 (7 people)
  • $6,150 (8 people)
  • $6,284 (9 people)
  • $6,418 (10 people)
  • $6,733 (11 people)
