Red Cross, Dunkin' Donuts' team up to 'Make a Difference'

Posted: Updated:

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) -- January marks the beginning of National Blood Donor month.

The American Red Cross and Dunkin Donuts are teaming up to launch the "Dunkin' Donors Make a Difference Campaign."

Anyone who donates blood this month in New York State will receive a $5 gift card to Dunkin' Donuts. Locally, people can donate at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center in Johnson City.

"January is a challenging month for us to have blood donors come out. Between the winter weather, and seasonal illnesses, we have a little less donor turnout than normal. So we're trying to encourage, not only some of our donors who might not want to come out in the cold to come on out. And for those people who may not have donated before to give it a try," said Theresa Blank of the American Red Cross.

This is the 11th year of the partnership.

The Blood Donation Center is located at 365 Harry L Drive. Schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by visiting
