BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The Binghamton men's and women's basketball teams were in action Wednesday night. The BU men were on the road at New Hampshire, while the BU women welcomed the Wildcats to the Events Center.
The Bearcats dropped its second straight game to open America East play at New Hampshire, 71-67. Both losses came against teams below .500 on the season (Maine and New Hampshire). The Wildcats held off a late surge to defeat the Bearcats.
Willie Rodriguez dropped 23 points in the loss.
Final Score: New Hampshire (6-11) - 71, Binghamton (9-8) - 67
Bearcats are back in action Saturday at Hartford at 2 p.m.
Binghamton led by as many as ten points late in the third quarter before collapsing at home against New Hampshire. The Wildcats snapped Binghamton's six-game winning streak, 63-61. New Hampshire outscored the Bearcats by five points in the fourth quarter.
Imani Watkins scored a team-high 20 points in the loss. Kai Moon added 16 points, including seven-straight in the third quarter to extend Binghamton's lead to ten.
Final Score: New Hampshire (11-5) - 63, Binghamton (10-5) - 60
Binghamton hosts Hartford Saturday at 4 p.m.
