Dempsey staying positive despite 0-2 AE start

Posted: Updated:

VESTAL (WBNG) - After nine non-conference wins, the Binghamton men's basketball team has dropped its first two games in America East play. Both Maine and New Hampshire, the two teams that beat Binghamton, entered the game with sub-500 records. Binghamton head coach Tommy Dempsey isn't overly concerned with the back-to-back losses though, he still believes the Bearcats are a solid team.

"It's certainly disappointing to be 0-2, but it's such a fine line," said Binghamton head coach Tommy Dempsey. "The difference between 2-0 and 0-2 is just so small. You lose two really tight games, and I was thinking about this today, if we win those two tight games, everyone is smiles and we're talking about a team that's off to its best start in school history. You lose those two games, basically by a possession, and now you're not very good. I just don't believe that."

Binghamton's next chance for its first conference win of the season is Saturday at Hartford.
