BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Junior guard J.C. Show poured in a game-high 26 points and junior center Thomas Bruce grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds, but the Binghamton men's basketball team dropped a 79-71 contest against UMass Lowell Sunday at the Events Center.
"It stings when you lose at home," said Binghamton head coach Tommy Dempsey. "Losing hurts, but losing at home really hurts. Tough day. Give UMass Lowell credit. They played well, really well offensively. I just thought we had a hard time stopping them."
Matt Harris led the way for the River Hawks (7-12, 1-5 AE) with 24 points.
The eight-point win was UMass Lowell's first conference victory of the season.
"We have to stop people," said Binghamton junior guard J.C. Show. "That's what we have to learn. We have to stop people when it comes down to it. We didn't get the stops that we needed to win the game, so we're not quitting. We're not going to quit. We're going to go back to work, and we're going to work as hard as we can to get this one on Wednesday. We're playing a good offensive team Wednesday in UMBC, and we're going to lock in and try to focus everything we can to stop them on the defensive end."
Everson Davis added 15 points and Bruce finished with 13 points for the Bearcats (10-11, 1-5 AE).
