Syracuse Orange lacking offense heading into Wednesday night

Posted: Updated:

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - It's been almost a week since the Syracuse Orange beat Pittsburgh to snap its four-game losing streak. In that game, the Orange only scored 59 points, a microcosm of Syracuse's 2017-18 season.

Despite having the ACC's second ranked defense, Syracuse's 2-4 conference record puts it 13th out of 15 teams in the ACC. Syracuse's main problem has been scoring the basketball. While Tyus Battle is third in the conference in scoring, the Orange as a team rank 12th in the ACC.

SU head coach Jim Boeheim hopes the week off Syracuse has been on helps the team find its groove offensively.

"Offensively, Tyus is just carrying us," said Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. "We need everybody to get involved. I think that's the one good thing about this game, some other guys made plays. Obviously (Battle) has to make some plays for us to win, but when we struggled early, other guys stepped up and made plays. We've got a long way to go offensively. I think these few days will help us, but it's a difficult league. Every game is going to be difficult."

Syracuse hosts Boston College Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
