BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - For the first time since 2003, Cornell University is home to the number one ranked hockey team in the nation in both recognized college hockey polls. Cornell moved up to the top spot in both polls following a pair of road victories over Harvard and Dartmouth.
The two wins clinched the Ivy League championship for the Big Red for the 22nd time in program history. It's the first time Cornell has been ranked number one in the USCHO poll since 2003 and the first time the Big Red has been ranked number one in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll since 2005.
There are eight games left in Cornell's regular season, starting Friday night at home against Union. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
