BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- It was big news in 1992. The Binghamton Municipal Stadium, now called NYSEG Stadium, was finally set to open.
The ballpark opened to the public in April of that year. In February 1992, our cameras were rolling the night the stadium lights were turned on for the very first time.
Construction began in July 1991 after it was announced that the Williamsport Bills would be moving from Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The stadium is now home to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies of the Double-A Eastern League.
