KIRKWOOD (WBNG) -- The New York State Department of Transportation isn't wasting any time getting work in preparation for the expected snowfall Wednesday.
Dave Hamburg of DOT said the department is prepared for the snowfall.
"It's the lull before the storm," he said, adding they're ready for anything.
"The plow operators are well trained and they're looking forward to it," said Hamburg.
He said crews have been preparing their equipment to ensure it's ready to tackle any amount of snow.
"The plows are clean and ready to go and when the snow starts falling they will be out there," he said.
The DOT is not the only one preparing for the snow, as many of you took to the stores to stock up on the essentials.
Mildred Wall said she was making a normal grocery run, but decided to stock up.
"I wanted to get groceries and everything because tomorrow's going to be bad I probably won't get out," she said.
Wegmans said water, batteries. and paper goods are always the go to items.
Connie Patterson said she stocks up because they never know what the weather will bring.
"That's what we do water all of it we have to you know because we're way out in the county," she said.
In preparation for Wednesday or any day there is snow, the DOT asks for your patience.
"It may take awhile and people need to understand that," said Hamburg ensuring you the job will get done, "they will work around the clock until the roads are clear."
