BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The Binghamton Devils managed just one shot in the first 12:30 of game time and four shots in the first period as Laval dominated the opening period en route to victory, 4-1, Wednesday night at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.
Laval scored with 6.4 seconds left in the opening period on a Markus Eisenschmid deflection past Ken Appleby in net. Michael McCarron added a shorthanded goal for the Rocket in the second period. In the third, Thomas Ebbing put Laval up 3-0 on his first goal of the season.
Blake Speers scored the lone goal for Binghamton before the Rocket added its fourth goal on an empty net.
Final score: Laval (18-23-5-2) - 4, Binghamton (13-24-6-3) - 1
B-Devils start a three-game road trip Saturday night in Toronto at 4 p.m.
