ENDICOTT (WBNG) – Ever After Binghamton Bridal in Endicott has been asking the community to donate their gently used prom dresses, including on Around the Tiers on WBNG earlier this month.
The bridal salon says after the segment aired, the community really came through by donating more than 300 prom dresses for teens in the area.
“A lot of thanks goes to Around the Tiers for the segment they did with us,” said store owner Taylor Stupski.
Stupski says the community response was overwhelming.
“We tried stopping the donation drive a couple of weeks ago and we still keep getting dresses in,” Stupski said.
The owner of the store says she is grateful for all the donations for a cause that is close to her heart.
"When I was in high school, I knew a lot of girls that couldn't go to prom because they were not able to go buy a brand new dress. So now, they are able to go to prom. They are able to enjoy that senior moment that we are always looking forward to in high school. So now they are able to go and feel beautiful in a dress," said Stupski.
High school students will be able to pick out a free dress at the store during business hours this Thursday and Friday.
Students will also receive a coupon from the Wedding Gown Preservation Company.
“They can get it dry cleaned for a very affordable price. They almost have a brand new dress for prom,” said Stupski.
Dresses that are not chosen during those days will be donated to local high schools next week.
