ENDWELL (WBNG) – A local woman is carrying on a Black History tradition by hosting an art display in her home.
The display is called "American History through the eyes of African Americans."
Brenda Brown has built the display in Endwell for nearly 40 straight years.
It includes locally made art as well as posters and news articles displaying important strides in African American history.
Brown hopes the display not only teaches history, but inspires future generations.
"We want our kids to know, this isn't just something to look at, but we want you to do research. We want you to feel good that you see a president, that you see writers, that you see leaders of organizations," said Brown.
The display will be at the Broome County Library Saturday at 1 p.m.
It is open to the public.
