ENDICOTT (WBNG) --Tony Cataldo has owned Tony's pizza shop for 44 years. He was born and raised in Italy, and brought his love for pizza to New York.
Cataldo first started making pizza in Brooklyn, before bringing his craft to the Southern Tier. "I came here in 1968 and I learned how to make pizzas and work in the restaurant back in Brooklyn, New York," said Cataldo. "It's always been my favorite food. I remember my mother, and grandmother making pizzas."
At Tony's, Cataldo says it's the ingredients that sets his pizza a part from others. He said pizza chefs make the dough fresh everyday and use high quality meats, cheese and tomatoes.
While the pizza scene is competitive in Endicott, Cataldo said the community makes him feel right at home.
Tony's is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
