VESTAL (WBNG) -- After two years as Vestal's head football coach, Marty Fisher will not return to the Golden Bears' sideline next fall.
Fisher went 11-7 during his short tenure at Vestal, losing in the Section IV championship game to rival Union-Endicott in back-to-back years.
On Sunday, 12 Sports spoke with both Fisher and Mike Rotondi, Vestal's Athletic Director.
"[Rotondi] told me that I would not be hired back," said Fisher over the phone. "[Rotondi] would not recommend me to the board of education to be head football coach, and I'll say that on the record."
"There is no comment about personnel or upcoming coaches until the board acts on any recommendation," Rotondi said in a phone conversation.
Vestal will have a new head football coach next fall.
