NORWICH, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Chenango County Republican Committee has endorsed Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride, who is seeking a seat on the New York State Supreme Court in the Sixth Judicial District.
McBride has nearly 35 years of experience in the criminal justice system. He has handled more than 1,600 felony cases and more than 60 jury trails since 1999, according to a news release.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve and protect the families of Chenango County as D.A.,” McBride said. “Working in court every day for more than three decades has provided me with invaluable experience and now I’m ready for the next step: bringing this extensive professional legal and community service experience to serve the people of the Sixth Judicial District as your new State Supreme Court Judge.”
The Sixth Judicial District includes Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Madison, Otsego, Schuyler, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
The position was made vacant following the retirement of Judge Kevin Dowd.
