VESTAL (WBNG) - There's a strong possibility the Binghamton women's basketball team will take the floor for the America East tournament quarterfinals on Saturday without sophomore guard Kai Moon. Moon is still recovering from a left foot injury suffered last Thursday against Albany.
According to Binghamton women's head coach Linda Cimino, Moon is stuck in a walking boot and has yet to practice this week. The sophomore is second on the team in minutes played and points per game, behind only Imani Watkins.
"I would love for her to play on Saturday, but we are prepared right now that she's not playing," said Binghamton women's basketball head coach Linda Cimino. "(Then) if she does play it's a bonus, and that we're not disappointed if she's not in the lineup. I think we played them real close on Sunday without her, so we know where our weaknesses were in that game and now we have to prepare as if she's not in the lineup. She's pretty much day-by-day, so we're not really sure where she stands for Saturday or for Sunday, but once she sees the doctor and the trainer, we'll know more."
Binghamton plays Hartford in the America East quarterfinals on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. in Portland, Maine.
