VESTAL (WBNG) - "I just love the feeling of, just for that few seconds, kinda feeling like you're flying," said Binghamton senior track & field athlete Keishorea Armstrong on what she enjoys about competing in the long jump.
Keishorea Armstrong earned a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships with the 15th best long jump in the nation at 20-7 3/4 feet. She accomplished the jump at the Boston/Last Chance Meet on February 25. Armstrong says she isn't setting any number goals for the NCAA meet. She's just focusing on doing her best, while her coach says she's already the best in Binghamton's women's track & field history.
"We want to have a complete track & field team and we want the men's and women's teams both to be successful," said Binghamton women's track & field coach Mike Thompson. "It's nice that Keishorea could step up and really become the first great track & field athlete on the women's team."
Armstrong will compete in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships Friday night at Texas A&M at about 8:10 p.m.
