BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - In this week's edition of B-Devils Sit-down, B-Devils forward Nick Lappin joins 12 Sports Director Larry Burneal to talk about his recent scoring surge, playing with Bracken Kearns and Tim Kennedy and his favorite place to eat in Binghamton.
Nick you've been red hot lately. You scored three goals Sunday against Utica, what's leading to the hot scoring?
"A few weeks ago, I had a meeting with Coach Kowalsky and we talked about little things that may be able to improve my game, such as moving my feet and getting to the net," said Binghamton Devils forward Nick Lappin. "Things, maybe, that I was doing at the start of the season when the puck was going in a little bit more, and thankfully puck's been going in. It seems like the things we talked about have been working."
The first line of Bracken Kearns, Tim Kennedy and you really seems to be clicking. What's it like playing with those guys?
"It's great playing with those guys," said Lappin. "They make things easy for me as well, and hopefully I make things easier for them when I'm out there. They are both hard players and when I get to the net, they seem to get the puck there as well and we're able to get it in."
As a team the B-Devils have been winning a little bit more lately as well. What's the atmosphere like in the locker room right now?
"Anytime you are able to start winning some games and string a few together, the atmosphere in the locker room is good," said Lappin. "It's fun to come to the rink, and maybe a few more jokes are being made or pranks are being played than when we were struggling a little bit."
You've been able to spend a little bit of time in Binghamton now. I know you spend a lot of time at the rink, but have you been able to get out and find any good restaurants or anything like that?
"Yeah I go out to eat quite a bit around here," said Lappin. "My favorite restaurant is (Number) 5. Couple other good ones, but if I had to pick one that would be my favorite one."
Binghamton Devils are back at home Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Penguins.
