FRIDAY, MARCH 9 UPDATE:
NORWICH, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Norwich Police Department has identified the man suspected of stealing from several vehicles in February.
According to police, 29-year-old Anthony Biviano is accused of taking from vehicles on February 18 and 19.
He's charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Police say Biviano is currently incarcerated in the Chenango County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges. He is scheduled to appear in Norwich City Court on March 20 to answer to these new charges.
“The Norwich Police would like to thank the public for all of the tips and assistance during this investigation. The information we received from the public helped us close out these cases," Police Chief Rodney Marsh said in a statement.
THURSDAY, MARCH 8 UPDATE:
NORWICH (WBNG) -- In February, Norwich Police were looking to identify a suspect who was seen wearing an orange backpack while stealing from vehicles. Thursday, that suspect was identified.
The department posted to its Facebook page saying the suspect has been found and arrested.
Officers told 12 News back in February the individual was responsible for stealing from several vehicles.
