SOUTH OTSELIC, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Authorities say a 17-year-old from Plymouth is charged with a felony following a threat at a school in Chenango County.
Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies say the threat was made toward the Otselic Valley Central School District on March 9.
In a Facebook post on the Otselic Valley Central School District Facebook page, Interim Superintendent Gray Stevens said investigation began after two students informed the district of an online video containing a threat toward the school.
Following the report, Stevens explains, the high school student who allegedly made the threat was found and questioned. Stevens notes that law enforcement found there was no threat to the safety of the school.
"We commend our students who reported this threat," Stevens said in the post. "They saw something and they said something...they did the right thing."
The student was arraigned in Chenango County Court on one charge of making a terroristic threat, a class D felony. The student was sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility with no bail, deputies say, and will appear in court at a later date.
